Today, I want to share about what I learn in class last Thursday. It is about characteristics for each approach on curriculum. Curriculum has four approaches such as syllabus, process, praxis and product.

What characteristics for each approach on curriculum?

1) Syllabus
Syllabus is taught by teachers in class based on topic or chapter in textbook. Teachers can prepare what they want to teach their students in classroom.

2) Process
Process is discussion between teacher and students in classroom. It is how the teacher delivers knowledge to all students. Teachers also should be role models to all students. So, teacher must have good character and effort when teach students in classroom.

3) Praxis
Praxis is focus on teachers. Teachers must have good idea and commitment to their students.

4) Product
Product is focus student’s need. Teachers must accept the abilities of students. Teachers should prepare question examination and arrange the question between difficult and easy. This is because can help students to achieve their goals.

Besides that, on that day, I can distinguish between curriculums of Montessori, Waldolf and Schicida. To be honest, I really interested curriculum of Montessori because it can help student to be independent and student can explore the environment around them. From that, students can use their experience for their future.
